Giving Thanks

So Wednesday, the middle of the week, hump day, or whatever you call it, is our official day to give thanks. Now, I realize that we give thanks every day, but Wednesday is (my declared) day to do it publicly, out loud.

So, I have this wonderful mash of friends from the neighborhood, church, school and other pathways. Last night, one of them, Lisa P., hosted a Girls Night Out in her home. We ate and drank and laughed. It was such a bright spot in the week. Lisa even gave us a fashion show from her latest favorite (bargain) store – what a hoot! Thank you, Lisa, for your hospitality. It was a fun evening. I’m thankful for these women in my life. We’ve laughed together, cried together, prayed together, rejoiced and cried over children, spouses and jobs. Women friends are a lifeline. (In fact, right now, I need that lifeline to pray for my mother who’s having some persistent health issues.) But, most of all, I love these women. So, thank you, Lisa, and thank you, friends, for bringing joy to my life.

(and for your daily smile, I have to tell you that the photo of women above came through a google images search for “women friends”. That’s all fine and well, but the page from which it is taken is called “PMS Factor.” I didn’t know there was such a page. Too funny, don’t you think?)

Anyway, who are you grateful for today? Who should you thank?
